Occupying Israel Bombs and Destroys the Gaza Representative Office of the Mavi Marmara Association

When staff members of the Mavi Marmara Association’s Gaza Representative Office—located in northern Gaza—returned from the south, where they had fled due to attacks by the occupying Israeli forces, they found that their office had been bombed and completely destroyed.

The Gaza Representative Office, situated in the northern part of Gaza, had been forced to suspend its activities due to Israeli attacks and the ongoing threat of further strikes. The team had relocated to the south, continuing its humanitarian aid efforts from there. This latest assault—carried out just before the ceasefire, as the Vicdan ship set its course toward Gaza to break the blockade, and before occupation forces withdrew—clearly indicates that Israel’s strike was an act of retaliation against this mission.

Previously, the association’s Hafiz School building, which served 110 students, had also been targeted and destroyed by Israeli attacks, forcing the suspension of its educational activities.

What Kind of Activities Were Carried Out at the Gaza Office?

Since its establishment, the Mavi Marmara Association has conducted numerous humanitarian aid projects in Gaza. Following the attacks that began on October 7, the association continued to address the region’s urgent needs.

Among the projects implemented by the association are:

• Olive Grove Project

• Poultry Farm Project

• Tuk-tuk Distribution

• Construction of a Hafiz (Qur’an Memorization) School

• Orphan Sponsorship Programs

After October 7, the Gaza office provided extensive humanitarian assistance to hundreds of thousands of people through health aid, food and water distribution, shelter support, and cash assistance.

According to data released by the association, recent efforts in Gaza included the delivery of:

• 2 ambulances

• 100,000 units of medical supplies and medicines

• 1,908 hygiene kits

• Orthotic and prosthetic support for 8 patients

• 50 first aid kits

In addition, the association distributed:

• 155,698 hot meals

• 5,000 packages of baby formula

• 2,650 sacks of flour

• 3,060 tons of drinking water

Under its shelter programs, the association provided 120 tents, 2,200 blankets, clothing for 1,300 children, and distributed zakat aid to 1,400 individuals.
