Our Permanent Works Projects
As Mavi Marmara Association, we continue our work not only through temporary aid but also through permanent works projects that help life flourish again in regions in need. With your support, we keep building lasting works to create employment for local communities, support education and social life, and establish centers for spiritual gathering.
Completed Projects
Al-Quds Mosque Restoration
We restored the severely damaged Al-Quds Mosque in Yarmouk Camp, at the heart of Syria, and reopened it for worship. By fully renewing its infrastructure, electrical systems, sound systems and physical fittings, we ensured the mosque now serves 5,000 people in the area.
Tent Education Campus Project
To bring hope to children living under the devastating effects of war, we established an Education Campus on 500 square meters of land in Gaza. With 5 classrooms, a director's office and a gathering/prayer area, the campus provides academic and spiritual support to 150 students.
Hz. Zeyneb Mosque Construction
In Burundi's Muyinga region, we built a permanent spiritual center covering 120 square meters, serving more than 500 families who previously had no access to a proper place of worship and education.
Orphanage Renovation Project
We completed the renovation of an orphanage in Burundi's Cankuzo region, providing a safe home for 45 orphaned children who had nowhere else to go. We offered these children education, shelter and a healthy living environment.
Abdulkadir Geylani Mosque
In the capital Bangui, we built a 200 m² mosque with its outbuildings, with a worship capacity of 350 people. The project also included a water well, ablution facilities, outdoor lighting, a playground and gazebos, creating a comprehensive social living space for the local community.
Şükriye - Mehmet Emin Alper Mosque
In the capital Bangui, to meet the worship needs of a local community affected by civil war, we built a mosque with 200 m² of enclosed space on a 500 m² plot, along with its outbuildings. The project includes a water well, men's and women's ablution facilities, restrooms, outdoor lighting and landscaping, gazebos and a children's playground; sustainability was further secured through two years of imam salary support. The project has provided the community with a permanent place of worship and social solidarity, benefiting more than 1,500 people.
