In Burundi, one of the lowest-income countries in the world, we were on the ground as the Mavi Marmara Association, striving to uphold the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan despite challenging living conditions. Through this mission, we delivered the entrusted donations of our generous supporters and went beyond immediate humanitarian relief—implementing sustainable development and health-focused projects designed to create lasting impact in the communities we serve.

The Freedom and Sumud Flotilla, formed through the unification of international civil initiatives seeking to break the blockade on Gaza, is preparing to set sail across the Mediterranean on April 12 with more than 100 vessels. The global civil mobilization — which includes the Mavi Marmara Özgürlük ve Dayanışma Derneği — aims to reach Gaza with humanitarian aid, medical teams, and a renewed call to the conscience of the international community.

The President of the Mavi Marmara Derneği, Beheşti İsmail Songür, appeared as a guest on a program broadcast on Sabah TV, where he made important evaluations regarding the latest developments in Gaza, humanitarian aid efforts, and initiatives aimed at breaking the blockade.

In Gaza, we have launched our charity kitchen with the capacity to provide hot meals to 10,000 people daily, aiming to alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel’s continued attacks despite the ceasefire.

As the Mavi Marmara Humanitarian Aid Association, we steadfastly continue our humanitarian assistance and solidarity efforts for Palestinian refugees living in the Yarmouk Camp, where war, siege, and poverty have left deep scars.

In Ramadan 2026, Mavi Marmara will extend the blessings of Ramadan to vulnerable communities across 13 regions, strengthening its solidarity with those in need.

As a result of months-long fighting, thousands of families have been displaced, while access to food and basic necessities has become severely limited.
