Ali Haydar Bengi

Ali Haydar Bengi, a respected figure in Diyarbakır known for his exemplary character and lifestyle, focused on promoting a correct understanding of religion, fostering unity among Muslims, and advocating for the liberation of Jerusalem in his recent years of academic study and teachings.

Born on September 11, 1971, in Diyarbakır, Ali Haydar Bengi successfully graduated from the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies at Al-Azhar University in 1997. He was beloved by all for his good manners and conduct. In addition to his scholarly pursuits, Bengi was actively involved in efforts under the umbrella of the Aydınlık Yarınlar İçin Hak ve Özgürlükler, Eğitim, Kültür ve Yardımlaşma Derneği (AYDER).

Ali Haydar Bengi was the father of four children named Mehanur, Semanur, Senanur, and Muhammed Mustafa. He applied to join a flotilla preparing to deliver aid to Gaza, which had been under blockade for over three years. On the application form, he offered his skills in translation and communication to assist the mission. Tragically, Ali Haydar Bengi was martyred on May 31, 2010, during the Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara ship, which was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza.
