Launched in 2020 in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, the Gaza Mavi Marmara Hifz School was an educational institution that provided free Qur’an memorization education to Palestinian students in need. However, following the attacks that began on October 7, our Hifz school was among the 180,000 buildings destroyed in Gaza.

The occupiers, who bombed indiscriminately—hospitals, civilian homes, camps, and schools—also targeted our school. During the attack, one of our Palestinian teachers was martyred.

The primary goal of the Gaza Mavi Marmara Hifz School was to elevate the educational level of youth in the region and contribute to their scholarly development. As part of this project, 100 students in the blockaded city of Gaza were receiving Qur’an memorization education.

In honor of the Mavi Marmara’s noble mission, we are now working to reopen our Hifz school as soon as possible and continue this meaningful effort.

Objectives of the Hifz School Project:

  1. To contribute to education and teaching efforts in the region

  2. To provide education for 100 children

  3. To ensure children from financially struggling families can continue their education

  4. To support the family budget of poor and large families by offering free education

  5. To help children affected by war trauma reintegrate into social life through education

  6. To support students who have fallen behind during the year due to various hardships

  7. To raise a new generation that will help build the future of Palestine

  8. To prevent poor, talented, and war-affected children from dropping out of school due to financial hardship

  9. To stand with the dignified people of Palestine and prevent the war from dragging society into chaos

  10. To select the neediest families and show them they are not alone

  11. To demonstrate that brotherhood knows no borders

  12. To report on the educational situation in the region and share it with the public
