İbrahim Bilgen
Ibrahim Bilgen dedicated his life to charitable works, often being the first called upon to help with electrical installations in poor households, refusing payment with a simple "your prayers are enough." Wherever there was a humanitarian initiative, Ibrahim Bilgen was present, embodying his commitment to humanity.
Born on March 2, 1949, Ibrahim Bilgen joined the fleet bound for Gaza from Siirt, answering "individual" to the question "Are you representing any organization or group in this event?" on the communication form prepared for volunteers. He tragically lost his life in Israel's attack on the humanitarian aid ship in international waters. Ibrahim Bilgen was on board as a volunteer, solely driven by his humanitarian spirit. In the information form he filled out, he indicated his capability to assist with electrical and plumbing tasks as needed on the ship. He believed his skills would benefit those in Gaza without electricity or water once they arrived.
Ibrahim Bilgen simply stated "HUMANITARIAN AID" in just two words when asked "Why do you want to join the fleet? Please explain in up to 200 words." His commitment to humanitarian causes was unwavering throughout his life, making him a cornerstone of aid efforts, always present wherever humanity needed him.
