Who Are We
The Mavi Marmara ship, which set sail on May 31, 2010, with the aim of delivering aid to the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza, was attacked by Israeli occupying forces, resulting in the brutal killing of 10 humanitarian aid volunteers onboard. The Mavi Marmara ship, with the motto "Its destination is Palestine, its cargo is freedom," was thus intercepted by occupying forces, obstructing aid destined for the Palestinian people.
Six months after the return of the mentioned aid fleet, the Mavi Marmara Freedom and Solidarity Association, bearing the same name as our witness ship to this great struggle, was established as an independent civil society organization to stand against wars, occupations, injustices, and all forms of grievances, and to fight alongside them. The organizational consciousness of our association is rooted in freedom, solidarity, and mutual assistance. Since its establishment, our association has been actively following the legal process of the Mavi Marmara attack.
The Mavi Marmara Freedom and Solidarity Association currently operates as a major humanitarian organization working in various regions of the world within the context of human rights, aiming to support individuals and institutions who cannot fully benefit from their fundamental rights and freedoms, and to provide economic, legal, cultural, and social solidarity and support.
Prioritizing the plight of the Palestinian people and the oppression in Palestine, the Mavi Marmara Freedom and Solidarity Association aims to implement all kinds of organizations in this context and does not pursue any profit motive in its activities. While collaborating with various institutions, the Association operates independently of any political influence or control.
Furthermore, the Mavi Marmara Freedom and Solidarity Association provides professional services for our entrusted orphans who have been orphaned due to various disasters, and responds to all their needs appropriately.
The association's operational mechanism consists of three stages: the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board, and independent auditing firms.
The Mavi Marmara Freedom and Solidarity Association is regularly audited by competent authorities within the framework of relevant legislation. In addition to these audits, internal audit mechanisms are also in place. Moreover, the Supervisory Board is audited and reported on regularly by independent auditing firms.
Ultimately, as an independent civil society organization, the Mavi Marmara Freedom and Solidarity Association continues to exist in various regions of our geography today and strives to respond to the needs of the oppressed without discrimination.
