The Joy of Eid al-Fitr: Sharing Happiness with Those in Need

The joy of Eid al-Fitr is hidden in the togetherness of iftar meals, acts of kindness, and especially in the excitement of children receiving their holiday clothes as Eid approaches. However, children living in impoverished regions experience Eid with sorrow, as financial difficulties prevent them from fully embracing the festive spirit.

Since the day we were founded, as Mavi Marmara Association, we have been carrying out charitable activities in Gaza and other regions in need. During the blessed month of Ramadan, we prioritize distributing iftar meals, fitrah, fidyah, zakat, and food packages, as well as providing Eid clothing to children.

This Ramadan, we continue to bring joy to those in need. With the ongoing attacks on Gaza—intensified especially after October 7—its people are struggling to access even the most basic necessities.
