"Crossing borders to share our Qurbani, uniting in the prayers of our brothers and sisters miles away."

🌍

In a parched tent camp miles away from Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, our paths crossed with Uncle Idris, who is trying to raise his six grandchildren alone. As we approached the makeshift tent of this weary grandfather, who had lost his last livestock to the severe drought, he saw our Mavi Marmara vests and smiled.

When we handed the fresh Qurbani meat to his little granddaughter Safiya on the morning of Eid, Uncle Idris raised his hands to the sky and whispered: "May Allah bless those who did not forget us in these desolate deserts, who came from miles away calling us family." At that moment, we witnessed once again that Qurbani is not just food; it is a bridge of loyalty that erases all distances.

⏳ What Did We Achieve Last Year?

As Mavi Marmara Association, during our 2025 Qurbani campaign, we reached the most remote areas in Africa, particularly in Somalia, Tanzania, and Benin, with the trusts of our donors. We brought abundance to the tables of tens of thousands of orphans, widows, and impoverished families. In regions gripped by hunger and drought, we transformed the worship of Qurbani into an unshakable bridge of brotherhood.

Together Against Famine and Poverty

Millions of people in many regions of Africa and Asia are struggling to survive with chronic food shortages. Many families can only eat meat from one Eid al-Adha to the next. With this awareness, we carry your trusts not just as relief supplies, but as a token of our faith and brotherhood.

Expanding our route further in 2026, we are organizing our Qurbani campaigns in Somalia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Burundi, Mali, and Burkina Faso in Africa, and in India and Nepal in Asia.

How Does the Process Work?

🎯

Priority Distribution Points

Villages hit by drought, orphanages, madrasahs, and households with elderly people without income, identified months in advance by our field teams, are our priority distribution targets.

🩺

Islamic Slaughter and Veterinary Control

Qurbani animals undergo meticulous health screenings by local veterinarians. On the first day of Eid, the names of the donors are read one by one, and the slaughter is performed strictly according to Islamic principles.

📈

Supporting the Local Economy

Animals are not imported; they are purchased from local producers and livestock breeders in the region, providing a direct contribution to the internal economy and development of that country.

📱

Transparency and Notification

The moment the slaughter is completed, our donor is instantly notified via SMS. In accordance with Islamic sensitivities and transparency, all processes are recorded by our field teams.
