What We're Doing

Gaza Representative Office

As the Mavi Marmara Freedom and Solidarity Association

Since the day we were founded, we have continued to carry out permanent humanitarian aid projects in Gaza. Especially after the attacks that began on October 7, we accelerated our efforts to address the urgent needs that arose in the region. To date, we have endeavored to stand by the people of Gaza through projects such as Olive Groves, Poultry Farms, Tuk-Tuk Distributions, the Construction of a Hifz (Qur’an Memorization) School, and Orphan Sponsorship Programs.

After October 7, while raising our voices against the genocide being carried out against the people of Gaza, we also launched a humanitarian aid mobilization with the support of our valued donors to meet the urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza.

During this period, we provided large-scale assistance to thousands of people in the form of medical aid, food and water support, shelter assistance, and cash aid to address the humanitarian crisis in the region.

With your support in this recent period, we have delivered 2 ambulances, 100,000 units of medical supplies and medicines, 1,908 hygiene kits, orthotic-prosthetic support for 8 patients, and 50 first aid kits in Gaza. In addition, we have provided 155,698 people with hot meals, 1,000 packages of baby formula, 2,650 sacks of flour, and 1,900 tons of drinking water. As part of our shelter assistance, we distributed 120 tents, 2,200 blankets, and clothing support for 1,300 children, and we provided zakat to 1,400 people.

The resilience of the people of Gaza in the face of all the attacks by the occupying Israeli forces ultimately forced Israel—under pressure from its own internal politics—to sit at the ceasefire table. This was a great victory and achievement for Gaza. Despite the occupiers’ endless military supplies, the people of Gaza, resisting with limited means, compelled them to negotiate a ceasefire.

Following the ceasefire achieved on January 19, we immediately launched a new mobilization for Gaza’s reconstruction—focusing urgently on providing both shelter and basic humanitarian needs. This mobilization includes meeting the needs of the people of Gaza for housing, clean water, food, medical supplies, and clothing.

With your support, both before and after October 7, we have worked to make the humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza more coordinated through the establishment of our Gaza Representation Office. This office was created not only to ensure the organized delivery of aid but also to make the presence of Turkish institutions felt in Gaza, to uphold the legacy of Mavi Marmara—which has caused the occupying Israel to lose credibility in the international arena—and most importantly, to demonstrate concretely that we stand with the people of Gaza.

Through our Representation Office, all emergency humanitarian aid collected for Gaza will now reach the people more quickly and in a more coordinated manner.

You too can help meet the urgent basic needs of the people of Gaza by making a donation.
