Gathering “For Conscience” in Front of the Israeli Consulate: Support for the Freedom Flotilla from Lovers of Palestine

At the protest, which saw a large turnout, participants condemned the attack on the Freedom Flotilla and the abduction of the Vicdan ship’s activists.

Speaking at the press conference, Beheşti İsmail Songür, President of the Mavi Marmara Association, made a powerful appeal to conscience:

“We have once again repeated a truth we have always spoken: While a massive genocide is taking place in Gaza, no global circumstance, no trade, and no international agreement has any legitimacy. If we, out of worldly concerns, cannot cross those borders while people are dying of hunger, then God will take away our honor and dignity.”

Participants, holding Palestinian flags, chanted slogans such as “Consciences Cannot Be Silenced!” and “Gaza Is Not Alone!”
The demonstration concluded with prayers for the Freedom Flotilla activists and the people of Gaza.
