Due to the attacks that have continued for more than two years in Gaza, the schools that have been destroyed are no longer places for students; they have become shelters for displaced families.

With the aim of giving new hope to thousands of children deprived of their right to education, the Mavi Marmara Association and UDEF joined forces with the Gaza Ministry of Education and Higher Education to launch the ‘Tent Education Campus’ project.

The opening ceremony took place with strong participation from the local community. Activities organized for children, Palestinian cultural dance performances, and community gatherings lifted the spirits of the people of Gaza, who have long been living with pain and loss.

The campus area was equipped with education tents, a mosque, and multi-purpose tent units, transforming it into a center where children can safely resume their learning.

The signed memorandum of understanding is regarded as the strongest concrete step taken to revive the education process in Gaza. Through this agreement, the aim is to create safe, orderly, and sustainable educational spaces that protect the dignity of the children.

The humanitarian solidarity that Mavi Marmara and UDEF have sustained for years is, through this project, transforming into a lasting contribution to the future of the youth in Gaza. Because we know that:

‘Education is a right. The future is rebuilt despite all the suffering.’

This campus is a hope that has begun to blossom again in a devastated city, a breath of life for children to hold on to, and a determined step taken to preserve the right to education.
