Amidst the ruins of Gaza, in a neighborhood devastated by the occupying forces' bombardment, we met Sister Maryam, taking shelter in a makeshift tent with her three children. The gratitude in Sister Maryam's eyes was indescribable as she opened the 'Canned Qurbani' share we delivered to her children, who had not had a warm bite of meat for months and were even longing for clean water.
Turning to us amidst the rubble, she said, "Despite the bombs raining down on us, this brotherly hand extending from so far away made us feel we are not alone. May Allah never leave you in distress in both worlds." This once again showed that the operation we are conducting is much more than just providing food; it is the resilience to hold onto life.
⏳ What Did We Achieve Last Year?
As Mavi Marmara Association, during our 2025 Qurbani campaign, we reached the densely populated Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon and the blockaded Gaza Strip with the trusts of our donors. Despite the severe border conditions, we successfully transported the Qurbani meat—which was slaughtered in India and canned in Dubai—to the region, bringing abundance to the tables of thousands of the oppressed.
Special Qurbani Operation in the Shadow of Occupation
The ruthless and relentless bombardments carried out by the occupying forces in Gaza have destroyed 97% of the region's agricultural lands, infrastructure, and livestock. This indescribable devastation and severe animal shortage have made traditional live Qurbani slaughter and meat preservation impossible in the region.
With the awareness of this bitter reality, we are conducting a special "Canned Qurbani" operation for Gaza and the Palestinian territories in 2026. We deliver your trusts to our brothers and sisters in a way that can be preserved for months without spoiling, even under the harshest blockade conditions.
How Does the Process Work?
1. Islamic Slaughter (India)
Qurbani animals undergo veterinary checks in India, where livestock is sufficient. On the first day of Eid, donor names are read aloud, and the slaughter is performed in strict compliance with Islamic principles.
2. Canning (Dubai)
The slaughtered meat is portioned and transported to Dubai via freezer trucks. Here, under high hygiene standards, it is processed into canned meat with a 3-year shelf life, without the use of any preservatives or additives.
3. Safe Shipment and Distribution
The prepared cans are shipped to Gaza and the refugee camps in Lebanon via aid trucks without spoiling, even under the harshest blockade conditions, and are distributed directly to war-torn families in the tents.
4. Transparency and Notification
The moment your Qurbani is slaughtered in India, you are instantly notified via SMS through our system. Every stage of the operation is recorded and monitored by Mavi Marmara teams.
