Ramadan is the month of sharing and brotherhood. In addition to fasting, which is an obligatory act of worship in this blessed month, there are also certain responsibilities that every Muslim must fulfill. One of these is fitrah (Zakat al-Fitr).

Fitrah is a form of charity that every Muslim who possesses more wealth than their basic needs must give before the arrival of Eid al-Fitr. This charity, which strengthens social solidarity in our religion, ensures that those in need can welcome Eid with joy.

The main purpose of fitrah is to deliver this charity to the regions where it is most needed. At this point, as the Mavi Marmara Association, we ensure that your fitrah reaches Gaza and Africa, the areas currently in dire need.

With the massive destruction Gaza has suffered in the last 15 months, making it difficult for its people to access even basic necessities, and with ongoing colonial exploitation and drought in Africa leading to widespread poverty, we bear the responsibility of standing by these oppressed communities.

By donating your fitrah, set at 180 Turkish Liras per person by the Presidency of Religious Affairs for the year 2025, to Gaza or Africa, you can help bring joy to our brothers and sisters as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
